"This busy book has been so helpful for introducing foundational literacy concepts to my 3yo in a fun and easy way. She has been interested in learning to read but we couldnā€™t quite find a way that she enjoyed or that benefited her - until now! ThankyouĀ šŸ˜ŠĀ It was also a great revision resource for my 6yo - expanding her knowledge with the differences between phonemes, syllables, detecting and manipulating different sounds etc - all aiding in her reading abilities! Very happy"

This is a new book to our collection but my 3yo loved getting straight into it when they arrived. She loves sounding out words and learning how sounds go together to make a word at the moment.

Who knew sounds would be so fun! This is the perfect resource when teaching your child sounds, syllables and so much more! The illustrations are great and easy for your child to understand and interpret. With the gradient learning there is always activities and fun to engage your child as they grow.

The Starting with Sounds Busy Book has been the perfect tool to encourage my 3yo son Jack to break down his sounds and improve his pronunciation of spoken words. We’ve already seen a big improvement in this area, alongside speech therapy, and feel confident that the early literacy activities will support his development through to pre-school. Thankyou for making learning FUN!

As a paediatric speech pathologist working in the NDIS world, this busy book has been amazing for some of my little clients. The fun and interactive activities have my clients engaged for extended periods of time and work on a range of phonological awareness skills. We love Busy Books so much!

We have been working through this busy book with miss 4 slowly just doing a few activities at a time not wanting to rush through it, before she chooses another book she can do independently. We have notice she is including the concepts into her play ex. Teaching her baby doll about syllables. We are very happy with how its going and knownits only the beginning

This book is amazing. My daughter loves doing the activities and as a teacher itĆ¢??s refreshing to see it align with whatĆ¢??s happening in schools. ItĆ¢??s research based and is preparing her so well for her formal schooling journey. Thank you!

My son has speech delays among other things. He was so excited when this arrived and he got straight into it as soon as he opened it. He loves trucks and the bin truck themes were awesome made it enjoyable and more engaging with learning. The extra cards in the separate case mixed it up and allowed room to change up the same activity to engage with. My younger son argues about not have his own lol but thankful they share the busy book. I will certainly be growing our busy book collection. ItĆ¢??s a great fun new learning resource. Thank you

    The perfect pre-reading resource!
I love that the content in this Busy Book was created by a certified practicing speech pathologist so I know Audrey is learning everything in the correct way/order to most effectively absorb the information in a fun and interactive way! It makes transitioning from singing the ABCs with toddlers, to the actual sounds that letters make when reading, so much easier! The perfect pre-reading Busy Book for preKindy-Prep kids. I have definitely seen an improvement in my 4 year old when weā€™re reading books together and she gets curious about sounding out the letters/words on the page!

This is the second Busy Book we’ve moved to and great for my three year old to start understanding some speech concepts. I’ve curated to pages purely about sounds such as ‘Can hear the first sound in the word’ as my son drops the first consanant in a lot of words. Again these books give me the confidence and tools I need to help my son! A few concepts are a bit advanced, I.e. counting syllables, but I’m hoping in 6 months he can grasp the concept.

A perfect addition to any learning resources for the home learner or family who want to extend or learn upon new skills. Use in the car or at home and build upon those foundation sounds and identification of letters. Working towards those early steps of reading. Perfectly set out to be able to engage with and even use as a way to cross the midline with tactile resources within the busy book. Perfectly used as a starting step to ā€˜Now weā€™re readingā€™ busy book.

We have been working through the initial sounds pages slowly. I love how I can continue to use the same pages and adapt how I use them, and see how quickly my son leans into the learning and gets excited about figuring it all out. I also loved the inclusion of some notes about how you can work through these activities with your child. It sets you both up for success and just makes the whole experience so simple. Then, you can change and adapt it as needed. We incorporated a sensory base into our learning for the initial time. Then, took the learning from this BusyBook on the road, literally. Spotting the sounds on signs or car number plates. This book has been really great for my son! Love it!

The Starting with Sounds Busy Book has quickly become a much-loved resource during my academic tutoring sessions. Over the past month both my team and I have worked through various activitiesĀ within this book amongst a number of our students; many of whom are aged six and under and some of which struggleĀ with learning disabilities such as dyslexia.

It can be challenging from an education perspective to encourage engagement and concentration from children of this age – however engagement and concentration has been of little to no concern when utilising Stating with Sounds. Our students adore these resources and the accompanying activities.Ā

Since the implementation of this resource in our sessions we have noted improvements such as increased letter and sound recognition as well as improved letter formation and overall writing ability. This has been an incredibleĀ feat for some of our students…and it is not just our tutors who are noticing these improvementsĀ but also theirĀ parents.Ā

The aforementioned developments have – of course – had an incredible impact on these students and their educational standing and have helped them to excel in other facets of their schooling and the associated curriculum.Ā
It would also be remiss not to mention the quality of the Busy Books. The product oozes quality from the packaging to the design and execution. We have noted no flaws or encountered any damage across all the sessions we have used this resource. I am very impressed.Ā

Having used the Starting with Sounds book with our 2-year-old son, I was pleasantly surprised with the multiple entry and exit points that this book has for all ages. Not only can children build many speech and language skills, they also can build their fine motor skills, writing, matching lines, etc. Being an early yearā€™s educator, this book is very transferrable to the classroom and home environments. The information provided on each activity is very comprehensive and helps those working with the little ones. One specific activity that I used (4) would be a perfect addition to a foundation / reception class and could support individual children to consolidate their ability to hear, recognise and produce rhyme. The quality of the Busy Books is fantastic ā€“ making it a worthwhile resource to use in a classroom, with many children or at home with little ones. I noticed that my son was engaged for much longer than I expected, he began to produce rhyme towards the end of the activity, and he transferred the learning that we were doing with this activity later in the day!
