What are Busy Books?

Engaging your busy toddler or young child in learning can be a tricky thing. With short attention spans  and eager to discover the next exciting adventure, capturing a child’s interest with quality educational resources can feel like you you are continuously chasing that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Busy Books are educational activity books for toddlers and young children.  More than just a book, these resources are full of 20 fun, engaging and educational activities.  But what makes them so amazing you ask? They have what we call “cut outs” on the left side of the book attached with velcro.  Your child picks this cut out up and moves it over to the right side of the book, where the activity is, and matches it to the activity. Not only are they learning whilst having fun, they are immersed in a sensory experience with the sound and feel of the velcro, whilst crossing the midline allowing the brain to communicate on both sides, learning how to solve problems as they work through the activities, and gaining valuable lift skills all whilst having so much fun!

Our Busy Books activities have been designed on a slight gentle educational gradient, so your child can grow and learn as they progress through the Busy Books. The activities are easy to understand and follow, clean, clear and not overwhelming, providing a visually relaxed learning environment.  Our fun and engaging activities provide toddlers and children with achievement and encourages them to want to learn, often asking to play with their Busy Book and spending long periods of time concentrating on the activities.

We have created professionally printed Busy Books on durable laminate type cello glazed card that can be wiped clean if food or drink is spilt on them or, if a whiteboard marker is used. A strong metal bind holds the pages together, allowing the book to lay flat and pages to be folded back on each other.  Most activities come with velcro cut outs to be matched with images in the activities such as colours, shapes, patterns, alphabet, numbers and so much more.

Busy Books For Valuable Life Skills

From our own personal experience, and that of thousands of clients, we have seen our children gain very valuable life skills, such as improved concentration, excellent hand eye co-ordination, improved focus and control, gained problem solving skills and an increase in vocabulary to name a few.  Many clients have reported a surprised huge increase in attention span from their busy toddlers, whom they thought would not sit still to enjoy a Busy Book, yet when presented with a Busy Book spent a good 10-20 minutes enjoying it.
