Mariah is a certified, practising speech pathologist passionate about early child development. Mariah has experience in assessment and intervention of speech and language disorders in the early years, having worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability and various other language, literacy and speech disorders. She works collaboratively with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams. Mariah has also completed training in the Hanen ‘More Than Words®’ program; the Lidcombe Program for early childhood stuttering;
DIRFloortime® certification; the Social Thinking training model; and additional professional development in the area of early literacy development.
Mariah values the parent-therapist relationship and understands the importance of parent-implemented support at home. She enjoys working with families through family-centered care approaches, promoting language and early literacy skills in the most fun and enjoyable way.
On a more personal note, Mariah is a twin mum to 3 year olds George and Johnny and loves trying out fun games and resources with them! She also enjoys going on adventures with her little family. Mariah is also the author of the recently published Our Sound Adventure, and the creator of Sound Deck cards, both of which can be found on our website to compliment your Busy Books or at www.soundadventures.com.au.
